Aniridia

Aniridia
Aniridia is a rare congenital defect causing incomplete formation of the iris. It is characterized by partial or subtotal absence of the iris. This can cause loss of vision, usually affecting both eyes.

The causes and effects of Aniridia will vary considerable between individuals. Poorer vision may be based on more than one abnormality since aniridia may be associated with other eye conditions such as nystagmus, glaucoma, corneal disease, cataract, lens sublaxation (dislocation), macula and optic nerve disease.
